As a fully certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, I am dedicated to helping you take control of your own health. I firmly believe in supporting the body’s natural ability to heal through the use of natural remedies, acupuncture, biofeedback, nutrition and lifestyle.  As it is essential that you feel in control of your treatment process, I approach your healthcare in a sensitive and holistic manner. With more than 24 000 successful treatments under my belt, I have vast experience in treating a wide variety of health issues.

I believe that each individual's health issues are caused by a unique set of factors, and that the key to a successful outcome is correctly identifying, understanding and addressing those factors. Most people that come to me for help have complex, chronic problems involving autoimmunity, chronic inflammation, persistent fatigue, digestive issues, difficulty overcoming chronic infection, reactivity to foods or factors in their environment, or other complex issues.

My approach

I spend a substantial amount of time with you in order to tailor my experience and knowledge to your specific case. Having spent over 20 years assembling a versatile set of clinical skills that allow me to get to the root of the problem, I will still be able to understand your case and work with you effectively even if your issues  are exceedingly complex, or involve multiple factors of different types. My approach integrates immunology, body chemistry, nutrition, lab analysis, functional medicine, resonance biofeedback, acupuncture, and other methods into a single working process. This combination of tools allows me to address each factor in your problem matrix with the clinical approach that matches it best, so the likelihood of a favourable outcome is greatly increased.

I originally obtained my degree in biomedical sciences 21 years ago and worked in biomedical research for several years before my own health issues began affecting my quality of life. I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), and every aspect of my life was impacted by my condition. With the side effects of medication reducing my quality of life even further, I decided to search for natural approaches. Within a year, I had regained energy, resolved my bowel issues and felt better than ever before.

This wonderful transformation had such a powerful impact on me that I gave up my career, focused on research and went on to study acupuncture for 3 years in Asia. I qualified as an acupuncturist in 2005 and became a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), which means that I am bound by strict codes of Practice and Ethics.

My own health journey has had an enormous impact on shaping the way I practice.

I have had extensive training in Singapore, China, Thailand, Switzerland and the UK, which introduced me to a wide range of interesting people and cultures, and have had more than 17 years experience in health-care.

During my time in Asia, I gained expertise in treating a wide variety of complex conditions. I also spent time gaining clinical experience at the Shanghai Research Institute of Acupuncture in China, in the Urology and Neurology departments. The combination of my western medical and complementary training puts me in a unique position to treat very complex conditions.

Over the years I have also refined my practice of Taichi and Qigong, and I am a qualified Qigong teacher. My Qigong training has taken me all over the world including Germany, Turkey and Canada.

Because of my background in biomedical sciences, I am able to combine western methods of diagnostics together with alternative testing to get to the root cause of complex health issues, which I have a great passion for investigating and finding tailored solutions for.
